Road trip

Photos by Wanda Callagy      Recently, off to the Berkshires I went, and as I navigated co-pilot Leslie Barkman joined me and volunteered to drive to attend the CD party held by the Arthur Holmes Blues Band.  Held at Mad Jack’s BBQ in Pittsfield, folks were able to purchase “I’m Waiting” and hear the new originals of this blues band.

Family, friends, and other supporters  sat at a long table, and we heard Arthur Holmes, John Worth, and Brian Forfa play originals off a couple of the band’s CD and covers.   The menu there provided me with a spicy catfish sandwich and the bartender was courteous and let me in his territory for a few minutes to take a few close up photos.   I’ll be talking with Arthur more next week about this CD and can share insights about the music he and band mates have recorded and what may be ahead for this band.  The AHBB has not disappointed me yet with their “calling on the spirit of Freddie and Albert King” style.

From there, we headed to hear some Chicago blues in Adams , at the PNA.  Blues Sanctuary were playing just around the corner.  Great sounds and sights!
