A fundraiser scheduled for this weekend will not only give local folks a helping hand but the evening will also provide three hours of music to warm up a cold night in February!
Starting@ 4PM, the doors will open @ the Hobart firehouse and over 30 members from the “Worn and Weathered” club will provide potluck fixings from soup to nuts to share for those who want to join in. Two local bands will fill the rooms with music. Logan’s Express will play classic rock and roll and blues(Jim Kopp, John Fink, Joe Ferla, Vladimir Smirnoff) and the sounds of the 50’s and Doo-Wop will be provided by Harmony Street with Jill Tannone, Doug Williams, Joe Ferla, and Dick Vollkommer).A 50-50 raffle will be held with all proceeds to go to friends Mel and Darlene Ackerman toward their health cares.
Joe Ferla, one of the members of the club, explained that the “Worn and Weathered, Inc.” Club is a riding and service club that sites its mission as one that organizes events to enjoy that activity while being part of a group that is assisting their brothers and sisters and others in the community when in need.
“I am looking forward to this,” added Ferla. “Bill (Palmer) and the group members put this together to give a little back to two people who have always pitched in to give their time to an event, or to help others. It will be a great night with lots of music to enjoy with a wonderful bunch of folks. I am hoping we see a good turnout.”
Doors open@4-8pm on Saturday, February 28 at the Hobart Firehouse, Hobart, NY. Tickets at the door are $8, with children 12 and under $5.
